ACT ONE, SCENE 1 - RAILWAY COACH, MORNING, JULY 4, 1912:

RR Conductor                     :           Uniform and cap of the period
Traveling Salesmen          :           Assorted loud suits, hats, caps and
                                                            derbies
Charlie Cowell                     :           Loud shirt, derby, bald pate wig
Professor Harold Hill         :           Semi Norfolk suit and a hat

ACT ONE, SCENE 2 - RIVER CITY, IOWA - THE CENTER OF TOWN, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING:

Maude Dunlop, Mrs. Squires, Alma Hix, Eulalie Shinn:  Assorted matronly townswomen’s dresses and hats
Ethel Toffelmier:  Younger type - 35 or so
Zanetta Shinn - Age 16-17, Mayor’s daughter:  ¾” length pretty cotton dress, small hat
Gracie Shinn - Age 10-12, Mayor’s daughter  :  Knee length child’s dress, hair bow
Amaryllis - Age 8 or 9:       Knee length child’s dress
Marion Paroo, the Librarian:  Slim, dark, conservative summer suit, prim hat.
Townswomen:  Singers, younger matrons in conservative dress of the period, summer weight, large hats, some parasols.
Dancers:   Assorted teenagers in ¾ length cotton dresses.  Some hair bows, some hats.
Harold Hill:   Repeat
Major Shinn:  4 button, or cutaway suit, hat
Boy:   Knickers, shirt and cap
Olin Britt, owner of the “Gazette”:  Conservative suit and hat.
J.C. Squires, owner of the Livery stable:  Tweedy type of suit and hat
Ewart Dunlop, Grocery Store Proprietor:        Neckband shirt, vest, trousers, prop, sleeve garters
Oliver Hix, Town banker:   Conservative and dark business suit, straw hat
Marcellus Washburn, Employee of the Livery stable:  Odd pants, leather vest, print shirt, straw hat
Townspeople:  Singers, assorted suits, casual attire, some as workmen
“American Gothic” woman:  Black dress with white collar, print apron, wig with center part and bun
Assorted Children:  In cotton dresses of the period
“American Gothic” Man:  Black suit, coat, white NB shirt, blue bib, overalls, bald pate.
Dancers:       Young men in assorted knickers, long trousers, cotton shirts, some with caps.
Assorted children of the Period:  Mostly knickers and shirts, suspenders

ACT ONE, SCENE 3 - IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THAT EVENING - IN FRONT OF AND WITHIN THE PAROO’S HOUSE:

Zanetta Shinn                      :           Dress up ¾ length dress, Indian apron,  headband with feather.

Harold Hill:   Reversible jacket to original suit.  Inside is Bandmaster styled lining.  Wears original hat, changes to Shako
Dancers:  Young high school boys in assorted dressy pants, shirts, ties, some vests, add red/white/blue accessories
Singers:  Dress up in summer suits and pants and jackets mixed.  Add red/white/blue accessories
